minutesDeliciously runny poached eggs served on toasted wholemeal bread. Cooked in boiling water without using vinegar. Vinegar is not required to stop the eggs from sticking.
Ingredients
2 2 large eggs
1 1 Dash of salt
1 1 Dash of pepper
2 2 slices of wholemeal bread
Vegan Butter or Marg
Directions
- Boil enough water to cover the eggs in a non-stick pan
- Leave the water boiling
- Add the eggs to the pan so the white goes in slowly and doesn't spread
- Once the edges of the eggs become free use a slotted spoon to gently free the rest of the egg
- As soon as the white is cooked remove the eggs
- Make a hole in the white with your knife to drain the excess water
- For large eggs cook for 2m30s to 2m45s on high heat

Notes
- Always use eggs that have been in the fridge
- Leave the egg to cook in boiling water. It will become free from the pan as it cooks. It may need a little help with a spatular towards the end of the cooking period.
