700 Grams 700 potatoes, thinly sliced
80 Grams 80 mature cheddar, grated
1 1 clove garlic halved
300 ml 300 fresh double cream
50 ml 50 fresh milk
15 Grams 15 Butter
Fresh black pepper
Salt
Directions
- Grease an oven-proof dish.
- Arrange a layer of potatoes on the bottom of the dish.
- Season lightly and add a little cheese.
- Repeat Until or potatoes are used
- Mix milk, cream and garlic in a pan and heat gently for 5 mins.
- Remove garlic and pour over potatoes add remaining cheese to the top of the potatoes and place 3 to 4 knobs of butter on the top
- Bake at 170 Centigrade, gas 3 for 1h 30 mins until potatoes are cooked
