  • 700 Grams 700 potatoes, thinly sliced

  • 80 Grams 80 mature cheddar, grated

  • 1 1 clove garlic halved

  • 300 ml 300 fresh double cream

  • 50 ml 50 fresh milk

  • 15 Grams 15 Butter

  • Fresh black pepper

  • Salt


  • Grease an oven-proof dish.
  • Arrange a layer of potatoes on the bottom of the dish.
  • Season lightly and add a little cheese.
  • Repeat Until or potatoes are used
  • Mix milk, cream and garlic in a pan and heat gently for 5 mins.
  • Remove garlic and pour over potatoes add remaining cheese to the top of the potatoes and place 3 to 4 knobs of butter on the top
  • Bake at 170 Centigrade, gas 3 for 1h 30 mins until potatoes are cooked
